Italian superstar Alessandro Del Piero said he was confident Frank Farina could turn around Sydney FC's miserable season after the former Socceroos boss was appointed the club's new coach. Farina will take charge of the Sky Blues for the rest of the 2012/13 A-League season after former English Premier League player Ian Crook quit after just six games. Farina will be on the touchline for Sunday's clash against Melbourne Heart in Sydney and Del Piero said he hopes he can spark a revival after just two wins from eight games left them bottom of the 10-team ladder. "For sure it will be a warm welcome," Del Piero told reporters of Farina, who he knows from the coach's time with Serie A club Bari. He will bring great passion and knowledge... he will do everything he can. Sydney FC forward Alessandro Del Piero "We hope we can do a good job with him. We need to improve, we need to win and we hope we can do that and build something for the rest of the season. "He will bring great passion and knowledge... he will do everything he can." Farina, who coached the Socceroos national team from 1999-2005, is Sydney's seventh coach in eight seasons. FIFA World Cup™ winner Del Piero, who spent 19 seasons with Juventus, insisted Sydney was up for the fight and desperate to break a four-game losing streak. "We have had a lot of injuries and been unlucky, but what happened in the last three months doesn't matter," he said. "We need to play with passion, with heart first of all... and to win."
