Everton have taken USA striker Edson Buddle on trial, his agent confirmed today. Buddle plays for German second division side Ingolstadt but is keen on earning a move to England and has been allowed to train with the Goodison Park outfit. The 30-year-old, who has scored nine goals since his move to Germany, had previously attracted interest from Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday. Buddle's agent tweeted the news that his client would be training with Everton. "For those asking, my client Edson Buddle will be on trial this week at Everton FC," he confirmed. Ingolstadt revealed they would not stand in his way should he do enough to earn a move. "If he wants to leave us, we will find a solution," said sports director Thomas Linke. Everton already have US international Tim Howard in their squad, whilst Buddle's compatriot Landon Donovan is in a second loan spell with the Toffees.
