A FIFA delegation led by President Blatter met today at the Home of FIFA in Zurich with a group of representatives of the European Club Association (ECA) headed by its chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Among the topics discussed were the insurance of players for all international “A” matches, financial compensation for clubs in relation to the FIFA World Cup™ and the governance structures at FIFA. FIFA and ECA agreed to look at these matters further during the coming months. The participants in the meeting were: FIFA: Joseph S. Blatter (President), Dr Theo Zwanziger (Executive Committee member and chairman of the Players’ Status Committee), Dr Markus Kattner (Deputy Secretary General) and Marco Villiger (Director of Legal Affairs). ECA: Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (Chairman), Umberto Gandini (1st Vice-Chairman), Sandro Rosell (2nd Vice-Chairman) and Michele Centenaro (General Secretary).
