Freiburg have signed Norway international Vegar Eggen Hedenstad for an undisclosed fee from Norwegian first division side Stabaek IF. The 21-year-old successfully completed a medical on Tuesday and signed a contract with the Bundesliga club before joining them at their training camp in Schruns. "With Vegar Eggen Hedenstad, we have found a player who can help us as a full-back," commented Freiburg's director of sport Dirk Dufner, who brokered the deal. "He is regarded as a major talent in Scandinavia with an outstanding amount of experience with 96 league appearances. Now he will get the chance to develop further with us in the Bundesliga." The 21-year-old has appeared 15 times for Norway's U-21s and recently made the step up into the senior squad, earning two caps so far this year. FIFA .
