Gabon coach Gernot Rohr has said that he hopes Celta Vigo midfielder Levy Madinda will recover from an ankle injury in time for Sunday?'s CAF Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final in Libreville. Rohr said the injury kept Madinda out of Tuesday?s 1-0 win over Tunisia in the final Group C match played in Gabon?s second city of Franceville. "Madinda is nursing an ankle injury and so did not play against Tunisia. We have five days before the quarter-finals and we hope he will be fit by then," said Rohr. Madinda featured for the entire duration in the opening Group C match against Niger, but he missed the dramatic 3-2 win over Morocco. The Panthers will clash with the runners-up of Group D Sunday evening at the Stade de l'?Amitie in the Gabonese capital. The standings in Group D, which has Ghana, Mali, Guinea and Botswana, will be decided after the closing matches Wednesday evening.
