Former Monaco and Barcelona winger Ludovic Giuly has signed a one-year deal with Lorient after passing a medical. "It's a club that suits me because they take joy in the way they play the game here," said the 36-year-old in a statement. Giuly has played 384 Ligue 1 matches in a distinguished career, which has included stints with Lyon, Monaco, Barcelona, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain. He captained Monaco on their run to the UEFA Champions League final in 2004 and was part of the Barcelona side that became European champions in 2006. He also scored three goals in 17 international appearances for France. After being released by PSG at the end of the 2010/11 season, he had re-joined Monaco as part of the club's bid to fight their way back into the top flight. However, he was allowed to leave by new Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri. From : Fifa
