GARY GOLD, Toby Booth and Mike Ford will form Bath’s new coaching regime next season. Former South Africa coach Gold has just finished a four-month spell in interim charge of rock-bottom Newcastle. Ex-England defence coach Ford and London Irish head coach Booth have agreed to help him revive the former European champions. Gold, who will succeed Ian McGeechan at The Rec, said: “It’s been a long road and we’ve been talking for six months already. “It’s a great privilege and I’m really excited. Bath’s new owner Bruce Craig has really put his heart and soul into the club.” SAM WARBURTON will lead Wales Down Under. The flanker was a huge doubt for the three-Test trip to Australia next month with a shoulder injury. But caretaker coach Rob Howley said: “Sam is our captain and will be going on the tour.”
