Canada's Erik Guay posted the fastest training time Thursday ahead of Friday's World Cup downhill race. Guay flashed across the finish line in one minute, 43.48 seconds, beating out Austrian Florian Scheiber and Italy's Peter Fill, who placed third. Heavy snow and travel issues wiped out two earlier training runs on the revamped Beaver Creek course so organizers were determined to get in Thursday's training so the race could go ahead as planned. Travis Ganong had the top time for the host Americans, 0.55 seconds behind Guay. Bode Miller was a disappointing 66th as the US Olympian returns from a knee injury that kept him out all of last season. Source: AFP
