Ex-France captain and hooker Raphael Ibanez is to take over as manager of Top 14 club Bordeaux-Begles at the end of this season, club sources said on Saturday. The 39-year-old Ibanez, who ended his playing career in 2009 to take up television punditry, will take over from Marc Delpoux, who is to join Perpignan. Ibanez, who was capped 98 times by France and played club rugby for Dax, Castres, Perpignan, Saracens and Wasps, will work alongside current coaches Vincent Etcheto and Laurent Armand. Bordeaux-Begles currently lie ninth in the Top 14 and have already extended the contracts of 13 players.
