
Bayer Leverkusen lost midfielder Karim Bellarabi to an adductor for several weeks, the "Werkself" confirmed in an official statement on Sunday.
The German international suffered the injury in Leverkusen's 3-1 comeback win over Hamburg on Saturday. Bellarabi limped off the pitch after only three minutes and had to be replaced by youngster Julian Brandt.
The subsequent MRI scan revealed a torn muscle in Bellarabi's adductors. The midfielder will be hence out of action for the "next weeks".
He will definitely miss the encounter against CSKA Moscow at the opener of the UEFA Champions League group stage on Wednesday.
Karim Bellarabi plays since 2011 for Bayer Leverkusen where he provided 19 goals in 86 competitive outings.
