Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) expects 2,000 participants for its fifth edition of the Malakoff 17km and 7km Penang 2012 run to be held at Padang Kota Lama on March 25. Its Head of Corporate Affairs and External Relations Yusop Rashid said so far, about 1,000 participants had registered for the race. "It is a 'Run with the Family and Friends' race, and is all about spending quality time with the family and friends while being active and physically fit," he told reporters after the launch of the event by State Exco for Youth, Sports and Women, Family and Community Development Lydia Ong Kok Fooi, here today. The race, he said, attracts not only Malaysian runners but also expatriates leaving in Malaysia. "The race will be organised in collaboration with the Pacesetters Athletic Club Malaysia (PACM) and it has attracted participants from Austria, Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Singapore and the United States," he said.
