Reading's Mathieu Manset has joined FC Sion for an undisclosed fee, the Premier League new boys have announced. The 22-year-old French striker joined the Royals from Hereford United in January 2011 and scored five goals in 28 league appearances for the club. Manset spent the latter stages of last season on loan at Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua and has now moved to the Swiss Super League. Reading director of football Nick Hammond told the club's website: "Manny scored some important goals for us last season, and so played a part in helping us reach the Premier League. "However, he wants regular first-team football and we can't guarantee that this year; we'd like to wish him the best of luck in his future career." Manset becomes Sion's latest signing of a close season that has seen them also bring in Rangers' Kyle Lafferty and former AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.
