Alvaro Saborio's second goal of the night Friday broke a deadlock and lifted Real Salt Lake to a 2-1 decision over Vancouver. Saborio gave RSL a first-half lead in the 34th minute when he converted a spot kick after Vancouver's Jay DeMerit got his hand on a cross from Fabian Espindola. The Whitecaps tied it up in the 52nd as Darren Mattocks collected a pass from Camilo Sanvezzo and beat Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando. RSL (11-7-3) got another tally from their striker when Saborio shook off defender Martin Bonjour and scored his 13th goal of the season -- tying him with New York's Kenny Cooper for second place in the MLS. The Whitecaps fell to 9-7-7.
