The Eight edition of Monsoon Cup will give more room for local sailors to show their ability in handling yachts when the event kicks off at Pulau Duyung in Terengganu from Dec 4 to 9. Chairman of the Monsoon Cup Tan Sri Sabbaruddin Chik said the event will start with an Asian Qualifier and Malaysian Qualifier. "The Monsoon Cup will now become a local sailing circuit, incorporating three events, allowing local sailors to participate in more match racing events. "This will increase their rankings and performance at the main event, the Monsoon Cup. Terengganu and Selangor have been selected to host two events while the third venue is still under negotiation," he told reporters, here Wednesday.
