On the transfer list in Mexico after the club's disastrous Apertura campaign, 'Rolfi' confirmed that there was a good chance he could make a return to Avellaneda.Club America's Daniel Montenegro has expressed his desire to return to Argentina and pointed at a move to former club Independiente as his first choice. The 32-year-old has been at the Mexican giants for two years since leaving the Rojo in 2009 and has been a first-team regular in the Aguila. And Montenegro affirmed that there is an excellent chance of returning to Avellaneda for a third spell, if the club are interested."The possibility is there for me to return to Independiente, but I will have to see what the situation is over there," 'Rolfi' confided in an interview with ESPN+ on Wednesday evening."There is nothing concrete, but the chance exists."Montenegro began his footballing life with Huracan and has played at eight clubs in five different countries over the course of his career. He also picked up six caps for the Argentina national team, the last coming in a friendly against Scotland in 2008.The former Marseille and Zaragoza man, however, could find himself moving on in the new year. America directors have declared the entire first-team squad as available to be transferred, after an awful Apertura season saw the team finish in 17th place with just three wins from their 17 encounters.
