Maverick Vinales led the way in both Moto3 free practice sessions at Le Mans on Friday. The Blusens Avintia star, who won his first grand prix in the 125cc class at Le Mans last year, lapped 0.151s ahead of Miguel Oliveira this morning, then put his FTR-Honda a hefty 0.632s clear of Luis Salom (Kalex KTM) in the faster afternoon session. Louis Rossi (FTR Honda) was the only other rider within one-second of Vinales. Estoril winner Sandro Cortese, who leads the standings by just two points over Vinales, was sidelined for much of the afternoon session due to technical problems with his factory KTM. Third this morning, the German slipped to twelfth in the afternoon after completing just eight laps.
