
Trevor Ariza scored 27 points and the Washington Wizards rallied in the final six minutes to defeat the Boston Celtics 106-99 in an NBA matchup Saturday. The Wizards did not lead until the final three minutes of the contest, but Washington ended the game with a 22-7 spurt to dump the host Celtics, who lead the Atlantic division despite a 12-16 record. Boston had defeated Washington in their past seven meetings, but could not stretch the streak as John Wall produced 20 points, nine assists and six steals for the Wizards. Polish forward Marcin Gortat, French forward Kevin Seraphin and Brazilian big man Nene each contributed 13 points for the Wizards, who won their third game in a row after a four-game losing streak to stand 12-13 on the season. Boston squandered an 18-point lead despite 26 points from Avery Bradley, 22 points and 11 rebounds from Jared Sullinger and 11 points and 11 rebounds from Brandon Bass. Source: AFP
