United Goans will hold the ninth edition of their major league Ramadan Goan Inter-Village football tournament in Dubai from August 3 at the Iranian Sports Club. In the opening match, last year’s champions Vanxim Divar Dubai will take on Football Club Siolim at 6pm. Mapusa Sports Club will clash with Panjim United at 7pm under floodlights later the same night. The tournament will feature 12 teams battling it out in three pools. In Pool A, Morjim Sports Club, Vanxim Divar Dubai, FC Siolim Mapusa Sports Club and Panjim United will be battling it out. In Pool B, the teams will be ABC Benaulim, Siolim United, Nuvem Al Seer and Candolim United. Finally, in Pool C CAC Cansaulim, Aldona United, St Stephen United and Bardez Football Club are the teams taking part. The finals will be held on September 14. The tournament is being held in memory of the late Ligorio Silveira and is being sponsored by the Chairman of United Goans Dubai, Nelson Silveira.
