Brazilian Alexandre Oliveira became the newest recruit of Al Dhafra club when he signed a contract for the upcoming season. The deal comes as part of the several contracts being carried out by Al Dhafra club ahead of the Pro League qualification, which will determine the two teams who will join the professional clubs during the 2012-13 season. The other teams in the quartet tournament are Emirates, Sharjah, and Al Shaab. The play-off will commence on Sept.4 and the top two teams will complete the professional clubs (14) for next season. The Brazilian joins over a dozen players who have already signed up with the club. They include Al Jazira player and former captain of the UAE senior football team Abdul Salam Juma and Mohammed Qasim. Oliveira is no stranger here as he was with Al Wasl for nearly four years and was a member of the team when they won the League and Cup in 2007.
