Teenage striker Gabriel Jesus scored twice as Palmeiras moved back into the top four of Brazil's Serie A standings with a 3-2 victory over Joinville on Sunday.
Gabriel and Dudu gave the hosts an early 2-0 lead before Marcelinho Paraiba struck twice in as many minutes for Joinville.
Palmeiras regained the lead just after the hour mark when Dudu set up Gabriel to fire home from close range.
The result lifted eight-time champions Palmeiras above Sao Paulo on goal difference, but still 12 points behind leaders Corinthians, who won 3-1 at Chapecoense.
In Recife, Flamengo capitalized on the early sending off of Samuel Xavier to defeat Sport 1-0 at Arena Pernambuco.
Everton struck the winner for the visitors by heading a Para cross into the bottom right corner.
In other matches on Sunday, Avai beat Internacional 3-0, Coritiba held Gremio 0-0, Atletico Mineiro won 2-1 at Fluminense, Atletico Paranaense defeated Goias 3-0 and Santos won 1-0 at Cruzeiro.
