Dutch police have arrested a total of 129 football hooligans by Thursday night after violence broke out between fans of Ajax and Manchester United, the Amsterdam police announced on Friday. Eighty-eight people were arrested in Amsterdam on Wednesday while another 41 were arrested on Thursday when Ajax lost the game to Manchester United 0-2. In addition, 54 hard core fans of Anderlecht, which played against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday, were ordered to leave the city by Amsterdam mayor Eberhard van der Laan. Most of the arrested were released on Friday, but will be fined for their behavior, the police said.
