Argentina international back-row forward Tomas Leonardi has joined Edinburgh on a three-month contract, the club confirmed on Monday. The powerful 26-year-old has moved from South African side Southern Kings, arriving in Scotland ahead of Thursday's European Cup squad registration deadline. Edinburgh Rugby head coach Alan Solomons - who worked with Leonardi during his time as Kings director of rugby - said: "Tomas is a physical, abrasive player, who is equally comfortable at number eight or on the blindside flank. "He's an experienced international who is capable of adding value the squad." Starting at the SIC club in Buenos Aires, Leonardi began his professional career in 2010 for Argentina's high performance squad, the Pampas XV, in South Africa's Vodacom Cup. He went on to establish himself in the national side, earning 18 international caps to date, before joining the Kings franchise in 2013. Source: AFP
