Qatar’s senior football team resumed their official training sessions on Saturday in preparation for their match against Lebanon in the FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifiers on November 14, 2012 here in Doha. Earlier on Wednesday, Qatar defeated Iraq 2-1 in an international friendly at Al Sadd Stadium. Khalfan Ibrahim converted a penalty to give Paulo Autuori’s side the lead as early as the ninth minute while he played his part in the second goal, which came through Sebastian Soria in the 32nd. Iraq, who played a second-string side, then pulled one back through substitute Hossan Ibrahim in the injury time. The match was a part of the preparations for their World Cup qualifier against Lebanon to be played in at Al-Sadd Stadium.
