Tour of Italy winner Nairo Quintana will compete in the Tirreno-Adriatico cycling race from March 11, his Moviestar team confirmed on Friday.
The 25-year-old suffered severe bruising following a fall competing at the Colombian national cycling championships last Sunday.
Quintana won the Giro d'Italia last year and finished runner-up on the Tirreno-Adriatico, and this year is targeting the Tour de France in which he finished runner-up in 2013.
He was also leading the Vuelta a Espana in 2014 before crashing badly on a time-trial.
The Tirreno-Adriatico marks its 50th anniversary this year with the seven-day stage race running from March 11-17.
