Real Madrid have established a new goal record in La Liga with their two strikes against Barcelona, tallying a total 109 and breaking their 107 goal record of the 1989/90 season. Real are the top scoring side in the championship with a total 5,393 goals. Real have tallied 63 of their 109 goals at their stadium, making this their third best run as locals in the 81 league championships they've played in. They've established a new personal best with 46 goals netted in away clashes. Jose Mourinho is also the first Real Madrid coach to reach the 100 goal mark in two different seasons at the helm of the team. Fourteen players on Mourinho's squad have helped tally goals this season. This improves on the 13 players who scored on Toshack's side in 1989/90. Cristiano Ronaldo (42), Higuain (21) and Benzema (18) are the team's top scorers.
