Brendan Rodgers has rejected the opportunity to talk to Liverpool Football Club. The Reds are in the market for a new manager this summer, having decided to sack Kenny Dalglish earlier this week following a poor Premier League campaign. Rodgers has made giant strides since taking charge of Swansea City in 2010, leading them to the top-flight where they impressed during their debut campaign. The Anfield club have approached the Swans to speak to the 39-year-old, but it has now been revealed that the Northern Irishman has rejected such an opportunity. "The club is pleased to confirm that Brendan has declined the current opportunity to speak to the Anfield club about the vacant position,” read an official club statement. "The Swansea manager is currently working hard to strengthen their squad in readiness for the new Barclays Premier League campaign. The club will make no further comment at this stage."
