Sampdoria have signed goalkeeper Tommaso Berni on a free transfer from Braga. The 29-year-old has opted to move back to Italy following the expiration of his contract with the Minhotos having made only two appearances last season. Berni, who began his career with Inter Milan, has also had spells at Wimbledon, Ternana, Lazio as well as Salternitana and made three appearances for Italy Under-21s. A statement on www.sampdoria.it read: "The Florence-born goalkeeper has become (manager) Ciro Ferrara's latest recruit. A serious man with great experience, he will wear the number one shirt at Sampdoria." Elsewhere in the Italian top flight, Atalanta have completed the signing of midfielder Davide Biondini on a season-long loan from Genoa. If he impresses in Bergamo, the 29-year-old could sign permanently for the Orobici at the end of the season. A statement on www.atalanta.it read: "Davide Biondini is an Atalanta footballer. The midfielder, who arrives in Bergamo on loan with a view to buy, will link up with coach Stefano Colantuono's squad this afternoon." From : Fifa
