Santos Laguna were unable to make it three wins from three at the start of the Mexican Apertura season after surrendering a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at home with Puebla. Santos had looked on course to maintain their 100 per cent start after early goals from Carlos Quintero and Herculez Gomez put them 2-0 up, but Puebla, who had lost their opening two matches, hit back for a point thanks to a second-half brace from Matias Alustiza. Morelia also struck twice late on to draw 3-3 at home with San Luis and retain their unbeaten record. Huiqui Andrade put Morelia ahead after nine minutes but winless San Luis looked set to claim the points after bouncing back to take a 3-1 lead through goals from Sebastian Fernandez, twice, and Santiago Trellez. Morelia had other ideas, though, and substitute Antonio Pedroza pulled a goal back in the 85th minute before Andrade netted an 88th-minute equaliser. In the day's other game, Tijuana defeated previously-unbeaten Pumas UNAM 1-0 with a 45th-minute goal from Pablo Aguilar. FIFA
