Center Kyle Turris and the Ottawa Senators have agreed to a five-year contract extension, the team said Wednesday. The Senators acquired Turris from Phoenix in a December trade and he responded with career highs of 12 goals, 17 assists and 29 points in 55 games. The 23-year-old former first-round draft pick also notched a goal and two assists in seven playoff games last season, including an overtime winner in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the New York Rangers. Turris, a New Westminster, British Columbia, native, has amassed 31 goals and 44 assists for 75 points over 186 career NHL games with Phoenix and Ottawa.
