Tendulkar doubtful starter for IPL

Sachin Tendulkar may miss the start of the fifth edition of the IPL after the Mumbai Indians' captain went to London to consult a specialist about his recurring toe injury which may require surgery. "Yes, Sachin Tendulkar has gone to London for consultation about his toe injury. He has been playing with this injury for long. It is not sure when he will return as even a surgery may be needed to correct it," PTI reported on Wednesday quoting an unnamed BCCI source. He is expected to be back in a couple of days and join the Mumbai Indians' preparatory camp for the tournament, according to Hindustan Times. It's the same problem that flared up before the start of the limited-overs series in England last year, forcing him to miss it. The Indian batting great had opted for other forms of treatment like acupressure and avoided surgery. The new edition of the lucrative tournament will commence in Chennai on April 4 where Mumbai will take on defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the M A Chidambaram Stadium.
