Malaysia's top women's doubles Chin Eei Hui/Wong Pei Tty failed to make it to the second round at the All-England championship after they lost to World Number Two pair Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei from China in the first round in Birmingham Wednesday. Chin/Wong, ranked 14th in the world, were beaten 17-21 and 14-21 by the Chinese pair in 36 minutes. Besides Eei Hui/Pei Tty, two other national women's doubles pairs also failed to advance to the second round. Vivian Hoo Kah/Woon Khe Wei lost to Poon Lok Yan/Tse Ying Suet of Hong Kong 21-16, 19-21 and 18-21 while Goh Liu Ying/Lim Yin Loo were defeated by World Number Seven pair Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl 16-21, 16-21.
