Tottenham Hotspur have signed United States right back DeAndre Yedlin from American outfit Seattle Sounders on a four-year contract, the Premier League club announced late on Wednesday.
Yedlin, 21, will remain with the Sounders for a further year before joining up with Tottenham in time for the start of the 2015-16 Premier League season.
"We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Seattle Sounders for the transfer of United States international right back DeAndre Yedlin," read a statement on the Tottenham website.
Yedlin made three appearances for the United States at the World Cup, in the group matches against Portugal and Germany and in the last-16 defeat by Belgium.
He is new Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino's fourth close-season signing, after Ben Davies, Michel Vorm and Eric Dier.
