TRNC hosts an international sports event

The 1st Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) University Sports Games is taking place in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Turkish Youth & Sports Minister Suat Kilic who attended the opening ceremony of the event in Lefkosa on Tuesday said that this event was a ray of hope for ending the embargoes on TRNC. Athletes from seven countries are participating in the first international sports event in TRNC's history, he said. The event was held by Turkey University Sports Federation. Besides Turkey and TRNC, athletes from Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Pakistan are attending the event which will end on April 20. Source: Anadolu
