Schalke goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall has penned a new three-year contract, tying him to the club until 2015. The 22-year-old joined the club from Munster in 2008 and moved from the youth team into the first-team squad in 2010. Last season, due to an injury to the club's previous first choice Ralf Fahrmann, Unnerstall played 29 games before he lost his place to Timo Hildebrand after picking up an injury himself. Fahrmann, Unnerstall and Hildebrand are now vying for the number one jersey with Schalke coach Huub Stevens yet to decide who his first-choice will be.
