Former Brazilian international defender Cris ended his eight-year spell at French Ligue 1 side Lyon by signing for Turkish giants Galatasaray for €1.25million ($1.57million) on Monday, the buying club announced. The 35-year-old, capped 22 times, won the Ligue 1 title for four successive years (2005-08) as well as the French Cup in 2008 and 2012 after joining Lyon from Brazilian side Cruzeiro in 2004. Cris, who also won Brazilian titles with Corinthians in 1998 and Cruzeiro in 2003, would have been out of contract with the cash-strapped French side next June and had fallen out of favour having not played in the last two Ligue 1 games.
