Zamalek football striker Amr Zaki must apologize to team coach Hassan Shehata in order to be able to return to training. The 28-year old former Wigan forward abandoned the team’s trainings for over a month after not receiving payments totaling LE970,000 from the financially-struggling Cairo-based club. Reinstated chairman Mamdouh Abbas promised to provide new sources of funds. “I agreed with Zaki that he will return to his home after he will receive his benefits,” Abbas told an Egyptian TV program earlier. He mediated in the similar case of winger Hazem Emam, who illegally signed a contract with Saudi side Faisaly. He was welcomed back on the team Tuesday after he apologised for his behaviour to Coach Shehata, who holds three-successive African Cup of Nations titles. The Whites are bidding for their first Egyptian Premier League title since 2004, while currently ranked fourth in the table with 16 points – 9 points behind leaders Haras El-Hodoud. ahramonline .
