Morsi added that the Egyptian public was demanding an end to the ongoing Israeli violence, stressing – in a reference to the new leadership in Cairo – that "Egypt today is very different than that of yesterday." On Wednesday, Morsi recalled Egypt's ambassador to Israel in response to mounting Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
