
Mild earthquakes hit parts of Mindanao in Philippines on Monday but damages were not expected, state volcanologists said. Earlier on Monday a 3.4 tectonic quake was recorded 38 kilometers northwest of Labason in Zamboanga del Norte, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. It had a depth of 34 kilometers, according to the Philippines's (Inquirer.net). In Surigao del Norte, a tectonic quake with a magnitude of 2.7 was recorded 19 kilometers northeast of Basilisa. The tremor had a depth of 90 kilometers. No aftershocks were seen from both quakes.
