
The 21st meeting of the environment and climate change experts of the Organization of the Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) kicked off in Cairo Monday under the chairmanship of OAPEC Secretary General Abbas Al-Naqi.
In a press statement, OAPEC said that the two-day meeting aims to exchange viewpoints and unify stances ahead of the upcoming UN conference on a new world climate change convention.
It added that the meeting would be attended by representatives of the Arab League and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General Secretariat.
Resolutions and recommendations to be produced during the meeting would be referred to the OAPEC ministerial council.
The statement noted that OAPEC's affiliated companies would hold its 43rd coordinating meeting in Cairo on Wednesday.
