The Institute of Volcanology and Seismology in the Philippines said Monday it had recorded 371 aftershocks since a 7.6-magnitude earthquake shook the country. The aftershocks occurred mostly in Guiuan and Burgos in Surigao del Norte and reached as high as 5-magnitude, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported. The 7.6-magnitude quake struck the Philippines Friday, killing a woman who was caught in a landslide in southern Caayan de Oro City, authorities said. About 5,640 families in Surigao City, Burgos, San Isidro and Socorro were affected by the earthquake, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said. The organization said 78 houses were destroyed and 37 damaged. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake's epicenter was to the east of the Philippines, about 59 miles from the town of Sulangan
