Southeastern Taiwan was shook by four earthquakes Wednesday morning, including one that measured 5.9 on the Richter scale, officials said. No damage or casualties have been reported. Taiwan's Central News Agency reported the tremors occurred between 9:08 a.m. and 10:24 a.m. near Taimali Township. The Central Weather Bureau's Seismology Center said the 5.9 quake hit first, followed by a 4.7 jolt and two 4.8 aftershocks. The Seismology Center reported the tremors occurred along the border between the Philippine Sea Plate and the Eurasian Plate.
