
An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale jolted areas between two provinces of Kerman and Hormuzgan in the south of Iran, IRNA reported on Sunday.
The tremor was felt in the towns of Menojan in Kerman and Hashtbandi in Hormuzgan.
According to the Seismography Center of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the quake occurred at 8:46 local time (4:16 GMT)
The quake's epicenter was at 27.02 degrees latitude and 57.64 degrees longitude.
There has been no report on possible casualties or damage caused by the quake which occurred in the depth of 14 km underground.
