
An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit the city of Dezful in the Khuzestan province in western Iran early Sunday, the United Sates Geological Survey said.
The earthquake struck 61 kms northwest of Dezful and 480 kms away from Iranian capital of Tehran.
There was no official report on the impact of the earthquake and casualties.
The depth of six miles was the same as that of a 6.3-magnitude quake which hit the same area on August 18, injuring 60 people.
