Another small earthquake strikes north Texas

An earthquake, the seventh to hit North Texas since November 1, struck early Monday morning with a magnitude of 2.8, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. It was centered a mile west of the town of Briar and seven miles north of Azle, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported, about 50 miles north of Dallas. No injuries or damage were reported. The earthquake was preceded by other small quakes in the past several days, largely in the Azle-Springtown area of northern Texas. The strongest was a 3.0 magnitude quake on Saturday afternoon in Springtown, the newspaper said.
