State Minister for Environment Affairs Nazira Serkis stressed the need to prioritize projects that help reduce air pollution emissions of all kinds, calling on all ministries to cooperate to implement these projects.
During a meeting of the national committee for improving air quality in Syria on Monday, Serkis said that these projects must include short-term, mid-term, and long-term projects with specific budgets and schedules, with plans taking into account the current conditions in Syria.
Director of the Air Quality Department at the State Ministry Thaer al-Daif reviewed the projects for improving air quality in Syria, most of which deal with protecting forests, curbing forest fires, proper waste disposal, improving fuel quality, reducing car emissions through periodic maintenance and inspection, alternative power sources, and limiting pollution from factories.
