A couple of weeks ago, as I was strolling by the Buhaira Corniche in Sharjah, I was shocked to find dead fish floating in the water. The murderers were easily recognisable as they were near the crime scene — polythene bags, plastic bottles, chips packets, disposable cups and plates. Lots of people and families come to enjoy at the Corniche, especially during weekends, and they find the waters an easy waste bin to dispose their litter in. I wish there were a signboard nearby indicating fines for littering in the area. I urge people to be more socially conscious.from gulf news.
