Flash floods submerged a district hospital and three villages in the municipality of Barotac Viejo in the province of Iloilo in Philippines as typhoon Quinta ravaged the northern and central towns of Iloilo, the Philippines News Agency said Wednesday. Municipal administrator Miles Ganzon said flood water as high as six feet forced the evacuation of patients 30 patients from the Barotac Viejo District Hospital at Sitio Toll House, Barangay San Lucas while 74 families in adjacent Sitio Tongkil, Purok Ilawod, Poblacion and Barangay Natividad were evacuated to the municipal gym. Ganzon said heavy rain pounded Barangay Nueva Inbincionat around 11 a.m. Wednesday followed by rush of waters from overflowing river. The heavy downpour stopped at around 12 o'clock, he added.
