Green Globe today announces recertification of B&B Technik + Events, Germany. The event technology rental company was the first in the world to receive the Green Globe certificate for its sustainability achievements in 2010. Mike Bertsch, B&B Technik + Events GmbH’s CEO, said: “Being the Green Globe certified pioneer in our industry means taking over responsibility for sustaining the environment by working in a climate- and resource-friendly way. Achieving the prestigious Green Globe certificate for the second time is a great honor for us and makes us really proud.” “Besides complying with the requirements of the Green Globe Standard for Sustainable Travel and Tourism, we always try to complete our orders as environmentally and climate-friendly as possible. When buying equipment, for example, we prefer suppliers that apply non-polluting and socially compatible production techniques and whose products are recyclable,” added Mr. Bertsch. The company, with headquarters in St. Augustin, near Bonn, supports events all over Europe with suitable technical equipment and organizational know-how. Besides renting projection, sound, light, or simultaneous interpretation equipment, B&B Technik + Events also offers classic event management services, in particular for corporate events. A new achievement for B&B is that all their spotlights being rented to clients were changed into LED spotlights. When working at an event, the company also makes sure that during the night, all computers, lights, and electronic equipment are completely turned off – a rule B&B employees practice in their own offices as well. Green Globe Certification’s CEO, Guido Bauer, said: “We are very pleased to recertify B&B Technik+Events with an excellent result of 85 percent compliance against our Standard. The company has a detailed sustainability management plan in place, and B&B treats all employees, partners, and clients with great respect. Creating healthy and safe working conditions is an important principle for B&B.” Mr. Bauer added, “B&B Technik +Events also gives back to charity; recently they sponsored the 20th UNESCO Charity-Gala. With sustainable business practices like this, B&B truly sets an example in the event and technology industry.”
