
Romania's national weather administration on Friday issued code yellow and code orange warnings for heavy snowfall and blizzard until late Sunday. The warnings were issued for the capital city of Bucharest as well as 27 out of the country's 41 counties. Snowfall is expected to be heavy in most parts of the southern region of Oltenia, with 30 to 40cm of snow and winds over 70 km/h expected. Blizzards are expected on Saturday in many southern counties with gusts of over 75-80 km/h. Romania has experienced drier and warmer-than-average conditions so far this winter.
