Hurricane Cristobal to move toward north Atlantic

Hurricane Cristobal is expected to move rapidly toward the north Atlantic, staying away from Bermuda and passing south of Nova Scotia, U.S. forecasters said Thursday.
The hurricane's maximum sustained winds early Thursday were near 120 kilometers per hour (kph) with no significant change in strength forecast over the next two days.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center said that Cristobal was centered roughly 460 kilometers northwest of Bermuda and was moving northeast near 46 kph.
Swells generated by Cristobal are affecting Bermuda and parts of the U.S. East Coast from North Carolina to Long Island, New York. The swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
